The Healing Blanket is an incredibly powerful and transformative tool that we have used in the shelter to support survivors of violence. It provides a safe, comforting space for healing, resilience, and empowerment. The facilitator, Sacha, is truly exceptional — bringing warmth, wisdom, and deep empathy to every session. This program has been a source of profound comfort and strength, reaffirming the power of collective healing and community support.

Sacha’s exceptional project management skills and meticulous preparation, organization and attention to detail ensured that the project ran smoothly for all involved. Her genuine passion for healing and empowerment shines through every aspect of her workshop. She successfully empowered and uplifted our group, and many attendees and staff expressed how much they enjoyed the experience and wanted her to return. We look forward to inviting her back.

I had the opportunity to work with Sacha when I was on the board for CreativeHub 1352. It was a time when social media was new to marketing and Sacha was a trailblazer. She inspired confidence in her ability to promote our cause and she did so very well. Sacha’s light shines true and she has a gift that she is so willing to share with others.

What the Community Is Saying

Neighbours, clients, and volunteers who’ve experienced the heart of The Helping Hippies firsthand.

I am very grateful and happy to support Sacha and now, The Helping Hippies. I have personally donated money, clothing, gift cards, and other items because I so believe in what she is doing. I have watched Sacha step forward with genuine compassion to help people in real, immediate ways—someone who is cold and needs warmth, a mother trying to fill her fridge, people who need a little dignity, care, and support in a hard moment. This work is not about attention. It is about community. It is about showing up where there is need and doing what can be done with heart, honesty, and courage. The Helping Hippies is a beautiful example of ordinary people helping ordinary people, one act of care at a time. I’m so very proud to support her.

With such a large compassion base for humanity, I truly believe Sacha is an earth angel and the love that supports and surrounds her is infinite. Sacha’s genuine heart, skill and insight allow her to guide myself and others through some of the most painful points with maximum ease, assurance, love and strength. With most genuine sincerity, thank you Sacha.

Sacha is one of those people that is just so genuine. So kind, so sweet. A smile that lights up a room. You can tell she’s trustworthy and honest. She means what she says and follows through. She provided my mom and I with groceries twice. I’ll be forever grateful to her. She showed up in the snow, the first time, with arms full! It really touched my heart because she also gave me this adorable scarf and fluffy socks set that I still have. Just knowing someone cares. She cares. Sacha connects with her community and beyond. She listens to the stories and struggles of others. You feel heard when you’re talking with her. The world is a better place because of her and I’m thankful to know her.

When a person looks at the landscape and says “we can do better”—when they create something new using all their emotional skills, brains, and tenacity—we need to pay attention. This initiative has created a deeper, thoughtful connection between people. When they tap the sense of community inside a community, they have achieved sustainable opportunity. I for one am grateful for the entrepreneurship with heart behind The Helping Hippies.

Sacha worked on special projects in my office for a number of weeks, recently. Her creativity and initiative were great attributes to her ability to stay focused and complete the projects with enthusiasm and satisfaction. Sacha was truly an asset to my office and I very much appreciated having her work with myself and my staff as a team player.
